i've tried copying the full title or just the first half and using that to search, but no results. most confusing..

hi milkii ,
it takes a while for a newly-entered release to be indexed in the db.
In a lot of cases, you can enter the mbid (or full url) of the release into the search field. that page doesn't seem to like it when I try.
Actually, hmm, maybe that's not the problem.

CallerNo6: aaaah, gosh darn, it's because it's a one track mix cd, and the discogs page had individual track items.
CallerNo6
oh, good. I mean, that makes sense. Good catch.

Could I get someone's assistance / analysis in hunting down some releases? I have 15 releases of "Voices in my Head", a Vocal Trance series of releases apparently all from 2011, potentially a "best of". As far as I can tell it's a bootleg series, no label, compiled and released by a single individual, no DJ mixing, the releases do not conform to a CD audio limitation (~74 minutes max) nor does it come
close to any sort of multiple CD duration alignment
The only reference to it I'm able to find is a Russian language music releases site, but it's been scant on details. "Worldwide release, MP3, 2011", and then a tracklist. Pretty much everything else is all speculation based off the lack of details.
I'd love to be able to track it in MBz, but I'd like at least one defining detail, like who released it and where.
Thanks, got it. I'm still new here, inexperienced, but was thinking I'd like to see the relationships to other remixes, and how one remix is based on another, and then take it further to consider how individual samples might be considered as "instruments" as such (but I know that opens a whole other can of worms, haha).
Where do you see the "pells" and "stems" fitting into MB?

Well, it seems they can't be linked to directly, other than as /files/

Fair enough, I was probably biting off more than I could chew anyway, haha.
Tell me, how do most people handle Folksonomy genre tags in your own music collections? Most music software that I have come across can't handle more than a single genre tag properly. For example, a tag of "𝒑𝒐𝒑, 𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒌, 𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒏𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒍, 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔" wouldn't match to a search for "𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥" in most software I've used. I want to make bette

I'm not a good person to ask this myself, I don't tag with genres - but I'm sure some people here do :)
Otherwise, you could ask in the forums

CallerNo6: "it takes a while for a newly-entered release to be indexed" - FWIW, with the new Solr backend, indexing should be near-instantaneous (that is, the delay should be in manner of seconds at worst, rather than hours).

15:26 < CallerNo6> [01:37:47] Even if they're parts of a series, I don't see how a comma improves it :-)
replace all guidelines with "use proper aesthetic sensibility" then
the comma for denoting parts of a series 'improves' it because it makes the data match the formatting standards currently used
