Cheezmo_ : (Original Mix) is very, very often added by digital stores (Beatport adds it to every single track that isn't a remix!) and is not necessarily ETI
the beatport importer just blanket removes (Original Mix)
which, fwiw, is sometimes actually wrong. sometimes the upstream has added "(Original mix)" on purpose, especially in the case of a remix release with multiple other mixes. but this is the exception that proves the rule.

darwin: Totally agree that if Beatport is the source it should be stripped.

yeah, I read further down, and see that the issue is that beatport's shitty meta information was printed on a CD cover
at which point I'm slightly on the fence. it's not artist intent of the recording artist, but it is artist intent of the compiling artist.
if it was just me, I'd omit it. but for mb purposes, it is probably correct to include it.
3 or 4 of those could probably be merged, just people entering catalog numbers differently?

The US and German releases seem distinct, and the Motown release (?) has a distinct barcode. But the two 1993 US releases do not seem to be distinguishable at all.
(No idea about the European-wide release.)
rdswift
Different catalog number from what I recall.
I assume that different number on the box means different release.

Oooh, interesting… this clearly US release but with German-manufactured discs (proclaimed by a sticker on the back) has the length of the very last track matching the German release, not either American release.
rdswift: yes, you’re right; sorry I overlooked that.
But hmm, this seems to be the A&M release you added, but with German track lengths. Argh, maybe it’s a distinct release?
rdswift, how long is your version of “Don’t Stand So Close to Me ’86” (disc 4, track 18)?
(also shouldn't these have the date of the year not 2020?)

darwin: re: "but it is artist intent of the compiling artist" - I really think people overestimate how much DJs care about the minutiae of track titles on an album cover.
CatQuest: different barcode
CatQuest
